Why do people keep trying to convince people that the Democrats of old are the Democrats of today. President Ronald Reagan has a famous quote where he says, "I didn't leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me.". he was referring to the flip flopping of the parties. The Democrats of old were known as Dixiecrats (Southern Democrats) which are today's Southern Republicans.
