Make her pick up that headband and throw it away. Then take the brat home!! Have a serious talk with her about behaving in public & then give her an age appropriate time out..
I would turn around and take her back to the car. One of mine misbehaved in the store, she did not go back for a month.

So here’s a story for you about kids now threatening to call the police on their parents because they were given a spanking. So: My late husband has 2 daughters. Their mother had custody and was living in Maryland while we were living in Florida. I assume that the daughter thought that the distance would keep her from any repercussions from her father. She was probably 11 or 12 at the time. Her mother told her if she repeated a behavior again, she was going to spank her. The daughter then threatened to call the police if she did. His ex wife then called my husband and told him the situation. He asked to speak to the daughter. The conversation went that if she ever threatened her mother again, he would drive up there and give her a reason to call the cops. There was never another threat issued from the daughter.

Not all children act like this, but a parent should be able to discipline the child once they show disobedience in public.

Stop her right then and there. That's how she learns that actions have consequences. I'm not saying beat the crap out of her, but some form of discipline so she knows that her behavior is not okay. we all have moments,especially kids have moments of frustration as they're learning to manage their emotions, but they do have to learn how to manage them and not get to lash out and then just keep going. I would not have taken her in the store until she picked up her headband and was able to calm down either with your help or without it. she's going to be in for a tough life if she doesn't learn those skills early on. it's hard to teach your kids anything these days in public because everybody is watching and judging. do what's best for your child no matter who's watching.
