I never saw so many autistic people in the 60 n 70 when I was growing up. we had some sad kids n hyper kids but not like this. can it be food dyes, vaccines, or something else. it's so scary that so many kids are suffering from this. there has to be something causing it.

❤️ Thank you officer for listening to what she was saying about why he was reacting that way, and then offering the young man a ride and look around your police car. Not forcing physical contact on him and speaking to him in a calm, even voice and changing his thought process by suggesting a fun and simple activity, is EXACTLY what you should do and took the stress and anxiety from 85% down to about 2%, in 5 seconds flat! It is obvious which officers have experience, lots of training and the right temperament to do their jobs. 👍
He’s scared , my grandson is autistic and he’s gets scared every time he hears sirens, they are not mentally ill at all , just scared they understand better than most people 😲

I worked with mentally disabled people and I had to get the police involved on several occasions. I only had one or two good interactions with police when having to deal with each unique situation. I praise this officer because very few police are like that.

That's a way to handle that. Sometimes it doesn't go that well. But I think cops do need to go to school for autistic kids. I had a cop say that I wasn't autistic. I'm high functioned. And he said, I didn't look like his son. I said, I'm not going to look like your son. I'm high functioned. I can stay home on my own. Your son may not be able to. They need to go back to school and have training in that and for deaf people i had a friend that got killed by a cop because the cop wouldn't listen. The man couldn't hear and comply and the cop. Shot him the man wasn't doing anything just standing there because he couldn't understand what he was saying.
