If he wanted to steal the money, he wouldn't have returned it to the owner, he would've kept it all.

Who the hell returns $4.000 doollars and keeps two out of six? Moronic. If you return it, you return it in its entirety, not give 4 instead of six. All lying on the part of the owner. Pathetic greedy selfish owner of the wallet.

Doing the right thing was wrong for this kid. How dare the owner? What an ungrateful entitled owner. 🌸

No one would've only taken $2k out of $6k & just put the wallet back down for that guy to find later😂😂 And he damn sure wouldn't drive 20 minutes each way to return the rest. If he was like that, he would've taken it all. The way I see it is the owner was originally out EVERYTHING, so I think I'd be VERY grateful for the $4k plus the wallet & its contents. It's a bitch to get a new ID & stuff. But to call the cops (& when that doesn't work) & then try to sue him civilly!?!? That's CRAZY work...& unappreciative behavior at its finest🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

yes....that was wrong of the owner to take it to that level. That kid could've kept it and nobody would've known. Ungrateful people on this world it will come back to them

The judge did the right thing. The questions I would have is, how does one fit $6000.00 cash in a small folding wallet in $100 00 dollar bills. It's impossible to do with a wallet that small? And, what would anyone be doing carrying around that kind of money in cash?

Why would he drive 20 miles to return some of the money? The owner is ungrateful. Thank God the judge was fair and dismissed the charges. An experience like this will make the young man hesitate next time such an opportunity presents itself. He still won't keep whatever he finds, he'll turn it over to authorities rather than risk the trauma. And I wouldn't blame him. He's a well-brought-up boy and didn't deserve that treatment.

Moral of that story: never return a wallet! Too many ungrateful people. I would have gotten the money and donated to a church and thrown the wallet in the trash!

Yes, it was fair and I actually think the man was lying, saying there was $6,000. in there in the first place.

absolutely fair the owner of the wallet should have looked at it like at least he got 4,000$ of the 6,000$ if there was ever 6k in the wallet I would think he would have checked for the cash as soon as Ethan handed it to him. now what would have happened if the wallet was empty, and the person who returned the wallet just figured that is how it was, the police was lame af for arresting the kid the owner should have had to prove that the$6k was how much was in the wallet. if the kid was a thief he would have just taken the cash and thrown the wallet away.. most police officers are not very bright

avator
Truck Frump

He would have kept or returned it. No inbetween. He deserved a reward and instead got sued. Owner is despicable. Ethan is someone we should all be like . Honestly, I’m not 100% sure what I would do. I might try keeping it, but guilt would make me return it pretty soon.

similar thing like that happened to me with that kind of money in the wallet too I returned it and I wasn't offered any reward for it whatsoever and I didn't touch a dollar in it but as I walked away I felt like God was looking down at me smiling so that was my payoff
