If he wanted to steal the money, he wouldn't have returned it to the owner, he would've kept it all.
Who the hell returns $4.000 doollars and keeps two out of six? Moronic. If you return it, you return it in its entirety, not give 4 instead of six. All lying on the part of the owner. Pathetic greedy selfish owner of the wallet.
Judge did the right thing. Great boy. Hugs to him.
Doing the right thing was wrong for this kid. How dare the owner? What an ungrateful entitled owner. 🌸
No one would've only taken $2k out of $6k & just put the wallet back down for that guy to find later😂😂 And he damn sure wouldn't drive 20 minutes each way to return the rest. If he was like that, he would've taken it all. The way I see it is the owner was originally out EVERYTHING, so I think I'd be VERY grateful for the $4k plus the wallet & its contents. It's a bitch to get a new ID & stuff. But to call the cops (& when that doesn't work) & then try to sue him civilly!?!? That's CRAZY work...& unappreciative behavior at its finest🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
yes....that was wrong of the owner to take it to that level. That kid could've kept it and nobody would've known. Ungrateful people on this world it will come back to them
I believe Ethan is a honest child I’m sorry this happened to him keep being honest son we know you didn’t take his money my eyes are on him😡😡😡😡
wow if I found wallet with dead president papers I keep it all but return owner Two dollars
good job young man an thank you judge
The judge ruling was right
it's gonna get to the point where this act of kindness is gonna stop. you can't penalize someone for doing the right thing. but that's gonna be a thing of the past
yes
Found lawyers wallet. Google address and phone . left message and got called back .Way late for pickup and was upset with me for no idea . Answer. No good deed goes unpunished
Good Job Ethan
They call that capitalism!
absolutely correct decision he also should be compensated for emotional distress
JUDGES RULING WAS PERFECTION 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
see that's why people are scared to do the right thing people should be ashamed of there selfs
I would’ve been glad to get that 4,000 dam fool😱😱😡😡😡
That’s why that wallet should have gone in his pocket. No good deed goes unpunished.
That’s way I live by finders keepers 🤣😂🤣
That’s what Democrats do .. they try and sue when they don’t get what they want
What a jerk. The kid should have kept the money and threw away the wallet. The man is an ungrateful.
kid should of kept all the money and threw our wallet
The judge did the right thing. The questions I would have is, how does one fit $6000.00 cash in a small folding wallet in $100 00 dollar bills. It's impossible to do with a wallet that small? And, what would anyone be doing carrying around that kind of money in cash?
he would've gotten his wallet back. be happy and shut up
I think the judge should have made the man pay the kids attorney fees any lost wages for time in court and gas for the 20 miles
if I had 4 bands I'm giving I'm 500 or money just maybe peel something off just cause 🥰 he brought it back
next time he finds that mans wallet keep it
Stories like this make people think that it's not worth it to help someone! What is going on with lawsuits against a good Samaritan? I have heard so many like this .
Never gonna fit $4,000 in cash into a wallet even if it’s all hundreds. Not happening.
The judge should have made the Owner award Etan for Driving the distance and Returning the wallet!!!! and for Lying on the young man!!!!!
exactly why I would've took the t h e money an ditch t h e wallet
He should have counter sued that man for the trouble that he put him through
the judge should have told the wallet owner to give Ethan $2,000 for unjust lawsuit
damn
Fair
Thinking this is Karen Read Judge ..
The kid he should’ve kept it
Why would he drive 20 miles to return some of the money? The owner is ungrateful. Thank God the judge was fair and dismissed the charges. An experience like this will make the young man hesitate next time such an opportunity presents itself. He still won't keep whatever he finds, he'll turn it over to authorities rather than risk the trauma. And I wouldn't blame him. He's a well-brought-up boy and didn't deserve that treatment.
Moral of that story: never return a wallet! Too many ungrateful people. I would have gotten the money and donated to a church and thrown the wallet in the trash!
Yes, it was fair and I actually think the man was lying, saying there was $6,000. in there in the first place.
The man should have happy that he at least got 4000.00 back. He could of never seen his money or his wallet again if the guy didn’t give him back the wallet
I hope Ethan’s parents gave him a couple hundred dollars reward money themselves if they could afford it.
Gee, who carries that much cash? 🤔 Definitely not a drug dealer.
it says in writing he was sued for 3000
yeah the judge did the right thing because I feel he was honest and to the wallet to the owner who live 20 miles away
absolutely fair the owner of the wallet should have looked at it like at least he got 4,000$ of the 6,000$ if there was ever 6k in the wallet I would think he would have checked for the cash as soon as Ethan handed it to him. now what would have happened if the wallet was empty, and the person who returned the wallet just figured that is how it was, the police was lame af for arresting the kid the owner should have had to prove that the$6k was how much was in the wallet. if the kid was a thief he would have just taken the cash and thrown the wallet away.. most police officers are not very bright
He would have kept or returned it. No inbetween. He deserved a reward and instead got sued. Owner is despicable. Ethan is someone we should all be like . Honestly, I’m not 100% sure what I would do. I might try keeping it, but guilt would make me return it pretty soon.
judge was fair .the owner needed to show where the original money came from if it was a bank there would be receipts
similar thing like that happened to me with that kind of money in the wallet too I returned it and I wasn't offered any reward for it whatsoever and I didn't touch a dollar in it but as I walked away I felt like God was looking down at me smiling so that was my payoff
I think the judge did a very good job in this case.
