I went to my girlfriend’s condo to propose. She was in a hurry walking out the door to a meeting. So I handed her the ring box. Say a word. Turned and left. Never popped the question. Without a clue not knowing, he took me to a jewelry store. Asked me which wedding rings I liked and for me to choose. I was a little surprised, we only had been dating for a couple of months. The jeweler, his friend had part in it and with a sign he held. It said will you marry me. I accepted and we have been married for 47 yrs.

We knew it was going to happen, but I didn't actually ask her until she went home to see her mom over the weekend. I was playing my intense sad music, and really missed her. I called to see how she was doing, and before I knew it, I just asked her. When I actually gave her the ring, she collected Barbies, so I got off work, picked up the ring, and bought a bride Barbie. In a parking lot, I opened the box, took the dolls head off and put the ring around its neck. Replaced the head and box top. It took her a minute or so to notice the ring. She loved the whole thing. Aug. 1st, 2025, we made it to 33 years. 10 years dating before that. School and jobs came first.
