that's not how you get rid of a tick you put heat to the body so it pulls its head out of the skin of whatever it is in. otherwise it'll regrow

I try to keep our dog out of long grass or weeds, that's often where ticks jump on a dog. Best way I've heard is using a tweezers to gently pull it out.
