love the idiots who have no idea how to, or when to use a Jake break... its a tool people, if you dont know how to use it, ofcoarse you'd say he shouldn't have use it. That's a trucker there, not a steering wheel holder. he handled that like a seasoned pro.
Keeping it straight, grabbing gears and trailer brake at same time is a pretty busy bit of business right there. Well done
how in the hell do you lose your CDL when you hit ice
Hey
underground bunkers and hyperloop encapsulate the roads with the hempcrete tunnels project the natural scenery
He qualifies for his DL under Gov Gavin NewScum
A little bit of both luck and skill
I think it's AI but on the chance that it is real, that takes skillz to pay the billz
Trucker did a great recovery, but kudos to the other drivers with sense enough to get out of the way. They all worked together to prevent a disaster.
That take skill to control that truck
I've been there , it takes a skilled driver to control a truck in that kind of slide .🤔
Skill this coming from another CDL driver
Well, that sounds not coming from that truck
That's what you call a truck driver right there he's driving his ass off 🤣 😂 🙄 😒
That takes some skill
Skill that’s great, but experience, wisdom and foresight would make this better. The problem is getting into this situation to start with! could be avoided in most cases by going slower and being more aware.
He did excellent. May God bless you all 🙏
he is a damn good driver when you can control something that big like he did don't get any better
he did that 👍
Both. It was a good recovery and he is lucky that the other drivers on the road were smart enough to get out of his way!
skilled because he was down shifts and using the Jake break at the same time and didn't kill no one they do not stop on a dime you can not expect the drive to be like a car in this case get out of his way
😂
best thing to do? drive very slow or wait for better conditions. that load can be late. management can be mad. get over it.
Downhill 80k lbs on ice and didn't hit anyone .... should be self explanatory
it's always the mad skills that drive the chickities crazy
That's skill by not to panic
wowwww.....how scary....he is a pro!
what in the hell is he using his Jake brakes for that stupid
it was God
It was Skill; considering he continued DOWN SHIFTING...& STEERING instead of touching the brakes.
It was the hand of Jehovah guiding the truck through those cars!!!
Skill on his/her part and luck that people moved out of the way 🙏👍😲
Pure luck!! any one with skills WOULD NOT be using a Jake brake on ice. The trailer will push the tractor and cause the jackknife. if anything at all you use the monkey tail very gently so as not to lock up the trailer tires. pure luck!
I used to have more confidence than I do now
He was doing it like a pro.
Little bit of both …
Skilled driver
This trucker is definitely a pro and deserves respect and a raise. 👍👍👍
could've turned the Jake off that would've helped too.
that was luck. what the hell is he doing hitting his Jakes, that's the perfect way to jackknife that truck because you're not breaking the trailer at all you're only breaking the drive axles on the truck which is going to want that trailer to push the thing down the hill jackknifing it. I think the only thing that saved him was that trailer was probably empty. and I'm saying that after 25 years of Long Haul truck Driving Experience, and have never wrecked or had an accident in the ice snow or rain. I've seen some pretty horrific ones though. he was going too fast entering that decline in the road anyway. but after doing so you steer out of it keeping with slight pressure on the trailer brakes first and then gradually start hitting the brake pedal slowly, but always keeping pressure on the trailer brakes until you come off the grade. he's just fortunate there wasn't more traffic.
Skill for sure without panic
I'd say skill. Plus a little help from above.
Foot off the brake. — steered it. It’s scary. Been there. You just make way. First big truck! 😲
DEFINITELY SKILLED , I KNOW A BIT MY HUSBAND WAS A GREAT TRUCK DRIVER !!! I FELT VERY SAFE WHEN HE WAS DRIVING HIS TRUCK AS HE CALLED IT !!! 😲 I DROVE , WHEN HE WAS DONE PROFESSIONALLY , 💕 I WOULD DRIVE WHATEVER WE HAD AT THE TIME !! HE SAID THERE WASN'T MANY PEOPLE THAT HE COULD SLEEP WHEN THEY DRIVE !! ONE ONE ME THOUGH !! HE WOULD SAY WAKE ME UP WHEN WE GET TO YOUR SISTER'S HOUSE !!! WE LOST HER TO CANCER AND HIS SISTER TO CANCER TOO !! THEIR NAMES CINDY LEE AND CHERYLANN !!! YES AND MY HUSBAND ALSO , WHAT THE HECK TOO MANY LEFT . MY FAMILY IS SORT OF SMALL!! DONT IKE IT !!! MY DAD HAS BEEN GONE THE LONGEST , HE WAS A GOOD DAD , NOT PERFECT WHEN IT CAME TO FAVORITES , OTHER THAN THAT , HE WAS MY DAD AND I LOVED HIM AND 🥰💕 LOVE HIM STILL, HIS DAUGHTER , WIFE , SISTER AND SIS IN LAW !!! NANA I LOVE YOU ALOT , YOU WERE SO GOOD TO EVERYONE AND ALOT TO GIVE
That’s what old school truck drivers have experienced when it comes to down shifting and controlling the slide and trying not to shit in their pants….all the while praying. Got to give it up for experience 👍🏼
he didn't almost lose his CDL.... he just proved that he has one.
For all the comments saying you don't use a Jake on Ice...I think he proved you wrong in this case and the negative comments about drivers in front of him not getting over...that's just the opposite of what I saw...the immediate taking to social media and sending a negative comment of another person's action culture has got to stop...maybe the road way was not icy until that point and that's why Law Enforcement was sitting there warning drivers...happens everywhere in the World...please let's stop with being negative towards our Brothers and Sisters...find something positive to comment about.
he was going to fast in those conditions to begin with
I have to say that I did that once with the dump truck when I was on snow and ice patrol. My God, I was sideways and everything else, but I pulled it out of there without hitting a car that was coming toward me almost hitting an abutment on a bridge but once the last car passed me, I gassed it hard and put it back on the road….. oh yeah I had some close calls, but I know that I was one of the best drivers we had…
those 4 wheelers were right. on their toes getting out of the way. good job to everyone
driver steered it right, but yes, he did get lucky. I'm just wondering about how he'd lose his CDL?
other better drivers 👍
he pro
Excellent recovery! Of course the drivers around the truck were on it too getting the funk out of the way! Why the cop car just sitting there?
Unsure
Myb going too fast.
Its luck depends on how much ice is on the road
good driving
Looks like some professional skills!!
Absolute skill!!!😲
That’s just years of skilled driving. I’m sure that trailer is loaded
both luck and skill at play here
Stuff like this is why I wouldn't drive an 18 wheeler - Especially during snow weather.
Driving anything requires skill!
Both
Skill
No not real , fake news none of the above ! The Jake break is good and it work just fine it was not meat for that coming off a down hill in a wet condition , in real life the min you use that Jake break the trailer will swing around and kill you . It’s an uncontrollable once you use a jailbreak you lose control of the truck trailer goes one way take a break with keep the chug going in the direction it is, but you have no control of that trailer. Thank you you have a blessed day. Great conversation.
A magnificent display of driving skills while handling a near out of control vehicle on a sheet of ice.
