1st, the person wasn't moving to cross. 2nd, they waved the truck to go. 3rd, I don't see a crosswalk, traffic light or a stop sign. 4th, the truck driver has many stops to make during their shift & can't waste time on political points. 5th, Nobody got hurt here. 6th, if I were that fired driver, I would sue the video maker & job for wrongful termination.
As a professional driver myself I immediately saw the problem. while many see nothing wrong with the driver continuing on. However the rules are different for professional drivers. the person had entered the cross walk ( marked or not). despite the person waving the driver on, the driver is obligated to let the person pass first safely.

well if you UPS is still anything like it was 30 years or so ago I know that they do not take anything lightly when it comes to driver safety and courtesy. I have known people extremely well who have worked for UPS - even in management and they are very strict with their drivers and they have gone out of their way to protect their image and they demand safety and they demand from their employees that they keep their image spotless !
And a FedEx driver did that to me two weeks ago
