Lots of people shuck their corn in the store, the trash can is placed there for a reason.
What am I missing? What did she do wrong?
It’s considered a nice thing to do for shoppers who can check the health of each stock of corn….dah?
clearly the trash can is there for customers to do exactly what she us doing... the sign says they are sold by count NOT weight
Corn is usually sold by the ear not by the pound. She is just “shucking” it there and keeping the mess out of her kitchen. Of all the things that happen at Walmart this is nothing.
shucking corn at store has been practiced for a long time that's why trash barrel is there. It allows you to make sure worms and Beatles aren't in it.
people do this at most groceries stores
I don't see where she's doing anything she shouldn't be doing. She's shucking the corn, putting the husks in the trash can, and putting the ears of corn together she intends to buy. What's the problem? 🤔
I’ll ask a 3rd time: Is fresh sold by weight?
She's taking the husky off so that it isn't included in the weight which would otherwise increase the cost.
saving money on weight and contributing to slop for the hogs
Shucking, before buying makes sure it’s not got bugs inside there. That’s what the trash can is for, sitting conveniently located. Around here the corn is sold each piece, not by the pound. Personally, I pay a little extra, get pre- shucked & wrapped.
It cooks best in the microwave with the husk on for 2 minutes a ear and let rest for 3 minutes
Handling food for other ppl to buy. She could have feces on her hands. The silk and husk prevent human germs from getting inside. DONT HANDLE FOOD THAT OTHER PPL ARE BUYING.
I see everybody doing this now, that way if there’s any bugs inside the husk, you’re not bringing them into your home
Most do it because they don’t want that weight. Why pay for the weight of the husk when you’re not going to eat it?
They do that thinking it costs less without the husk I’ve had people do it with grapes as well
Walmart is full of low life’s!
proper etiquette is you peel the husk down about a third of the way to see how the kernels look this woman I think is so cheap she doesn't want to pay for the husk on the corn. you got to admit that's pretty damn cheap. but it's good looking corn I don't know why she put the peeled corn cob back onto the pile. but it takes all kinds. she must be a Democrat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Nasty! And if she buys it, that’s nasty
I do that all the time nobody ever told me I couldn’t do that that’s why the big plastic barrels are always in every supermarket
Crappy people have nothing else better to do than complain and criticize. The trash can is there for a reason idiot!
Lots of stores put bins out so you can husk the corn! I consider that a great courtesy!
Not nice if you didn’t want that husk of corn after you peel it you should have thrown it in the trash. I don’t want to touch that, in my hands. Working in the healthcare industry for forty years “I better know better “ not to do that. When I am taking the husk off the corn I always used gloves because it can scratch your skin & fingers. I have very sensitive skin even when I eat something that don’t agree with (especially a lot of citrus) I start to itch and skin turns red. I love it when it tastes sweet and soft and delicious. I hardly buy them I get the one in the package it’s the same thing( as the store manager mentioned it to the customers) “Choose wisely and you shall not go wrong “‼️✅💯
Usually sweet corn is sold by the unit, not the weight-so this is dumb
It's a sly way to save on the per pound prices! However, I like to use all of that "waste" to beautifully steam the corn! (Especially, SWEET CORN!!) Emerge the entire ears in salted water and soak for at least 30 minutes. Then, shake off the excess water. Next, either wrap in foil or bake as is. Do not remove the husk until its done cooking)
It’s what you are supposed to do , that’s why they put a trash can near the corn, duh.
I was always taking the husk off in the past. But I just read that the corn stays fresh longer with the husk on. So I guess I'll bring the mess home with me and have fresher corn. BTW..🤔..I think she is just laying the ears down after husking and will put in a bag later, all at once 🤔🌽🌽🌽
I think the fact that she put that ear back in the pile is an issue!! Usually I shuck mine and put it in my little bag in the cart 🤷🏻♀️
Whoever filmed this needs to find themselves a hobby 👍🏼
That’s why there’s a garbage can there because people do it. There’s nothing wrong with it again that’s why there’s a garbage can there.
A man did tha
She don’t want that mess in her kitchen
That's what the trash can is there for!
customers do it to look for worms and rot. it's a aeroplane concept decades and decades, decades ago came with immigrants to America
I take the husks off at the store because I've gotten home with rotten corn before. Leave the woman alone!🌸🌸🌸
There's a waste basket there for a reason!
That's been going on since 1960's. That's not new. That's why you see a garbage can there.
You pay by the pound.
Many communities now have an area, such as this trashcan, and people that are going to purchase ears of corn, however, have no plans other than Trish for the husks, deposit the extras here at the store, and it is recycled for compost and facilitate growing. I am originally a Jersey girl, i’m proud of the states nickname, “the garden state” home of the best corn and tomatoes eve; this is common place. Please don’t find fault with anyone’s actions until you understand.
Possibly shaking the corn and laying them down to bag all at the same time?
They usually have a garbage bin next to the corn so I have seen people do this. As long as they’re going to buy it, I see nothing wrong with it.
this way the husk isn't being in the weight of the corn 👍
I do too. Less mess at home. You pay by piece, not pound.
Well yes! Many grocery stores provide a trash can so you can shuck corn neatly. Thank you to all groceries that provide this service!
cheaper
It’s an option Walmart offers buyers .. husk it there or take it home to husk it . Been doing it for years
You do that at home lady !!!
at least they provide a trash can.😆
This is what’s suppose to be done… if you want it shucked you can do it at the store… that’s why the trash can is there…🤷🏽♀️you can also leaf your cabbages in the store…
I do believe that’s why the trashcan is there at the end of the shucking table.
Who is going to buy that corn after she has decided to silk it??? Not me.
And whats the problem?
You are supposed too
And???
I'm from Iowa. NOBODY does that.
they don't sell sweet corn by the pound. It's per ear.🙄
They do it so they don't have to pay the extra weight for the shucks That they cannot use. I haven't done it , but it's a great idea
????????
I do it too husks are a waist . unless you save it for tamales. 💕💕💕💕
Whenever I get fresh corn I always peel back the husk a bit in order to check out the kernels to make sure that they are formed properly. 🤔 My Dad taught me this - he was from Iowa the corn belt of America. 😆💕
I take some of the husk off the corn in the store ,that's why the trash bin is there, but I take what I husk home
She had the nerves to do what I always wanted to do; (don't pay for the extra weight that I cannot use.)😲🤔😲🤔😲😆
I, too, cook mine in microwave with husks on because it’s easier and the hair comes off better
Perfect. She doesn’t eat the damn Shuck.
I pull a piece down to see if the rows are straight. When they aren't it is not as good and usually have bad spots.
And……
At my stores not by weight. Usually something like 4 for $1
