Corn is usually sold by the ear not by the pound. She is just “shucking” it there and keeping the mess out of her kitchen. Of all the things that happen at Walmart this is nothing.

shucking corn at store has been practiced for a long time that's why trash barrel is there. It allows you to make sure worms and Beatles aren't in it.

I don't see where she's doing anything she shouldn't be doing. She's shucking the corn, putting the husks in the trash can, and putting the ears of corn together she intends to buy. What's the problem? 🤔

I’ll ask a 3rd time: Is fresh sold by weight?

She's taking the husky off so that it isn't included in the weight which would otherwise increase the cost.

Shucking, before buying makes sure it’s not got bugs inside there. That’s what the trash can is for, sitting conveniently located. Around here the corn is sold each piece, not by the pound. Personally, I pay a little extra, get pre- shucked & wrapped.

It cooks best in the microwave with the husk on for 2 minutes a ear and let rest for 3 minutes

Handling food for other ppl to buy. She could have feces on her hands. The silk and husk prevent human germs from getting inside. DONT HANDLE FOOD THAT OTHER PPL ARE BUYING.

I see everybody doing this now, that way if there’s any bugs inside the husk, you’re not bringing them into your home

Most do it because they don’t want that weight. Why pay for the weight of the husk when you’re not going to eat it?

proper etiquette is you peel the husk down about a third of the way to see how the kernels look this woman I think is so cheap she doesn't want to pay for the husk on the corn. you got to admit that's pretty damn cheap. but it's good looking corn I don't know why she put the peeled corn cob back onto the pile. but it takes all kinds. she must be a Democrat 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

Not nice if you didn’t want that husk of corn after you peel it you should have thrown it in the trash. I don’t want to touch that, in my hands. Working in the healthcare industry for forty years “I better know better “ not to do that. When I am taking the husk off the corn I always used gloves because it can scratch your skin & fingers. I have very sensitive skin even when I eat something that don’t agree with (especially a lot of citrus) I start to itch and skin turns red. I love it when it tastes sweet and soft and delicious. I hardly buy them I get the one in the package it’s the same thing( as the store manager mentioned it to the customers) “Choose wisely and you shall not go wrong “‼️✅💯

avator

It's a sly way to save on the per pound prices! However, I like to use all of that "waste" to beautifully steam the corn! (Especially, SWEET CORN!!) Emerge the entire ears in salted water and soak for at least 30 minutes. Then, shake off the excess water. Next, either wrap in foil or bake as is. Do not remove the husk until its done cooking)

I was always taking the husk off in the past. But I just read that the corn stays fresh longer with the husk on. So I guess I'll bring the mess home with me and have fresher corn. BTW..🤔..I think she is just laying the ears down after husking and will put in a bag later, all at once 🤔🌽🌽🌽

Many communities now have an area, such as this trashcan, and people that are going to purchase ears of corn, however, have no plans other than Trish for the husks, deposit the extras here at the store, and it is recycled for compost and facilitate growing. I am originally a Jersey girl, i’m proud of the states nickname, “the garden state” home of the best corn and tomatoes eve; this is common place. Please don’t find fault with anyone’s actions until you understand.
