If you are curious this is Revani, a traditional Turkish semolina cake soaked in syrup, being prepared at Parlar Pastanesi in Istanbul. Parlar Pastanesi, founded in 1958, is a renowned establishment particularly famous for this dessert.
I鈥檝e had it. But I can鈥檛 eat it anymore. Because I haven鈥檛 eaten anything made with flour or sugar in 14 months. Because those two things make me fat. I鈥檝e lost 142 pounds so far. Got another 85 to go.
the liquid is honey syrup. it is probably flavored with either rose or orange blossom. the cake is delicious.
