I’ve had it. But I can’t eat it anymore. Because I haven’t eaten anything made with flour or sugar in 14 months. Because those two things make me fat. I’ve lost 142 pounds so far. Got another 85 to go.
If you are curious this is Revani, a traditional Turkish semolina cake soaked in syrup, being prepared at Parlar Pastanesi in Istanbul. Parlar Pastanesi, founded in 1958, is a renowned establishment particularly famous for this dessert.
People that think it’s nasty evidently don’t travel very much and don’t try things that are different. I have been to several countries and tried things I thought looked gross but were actually were very good. Don’t put things down until you actually try them for yourself. If you don’t try it then just keep your comments to yourself. I’d try it. My dad taught me that I couldn’t say I disliked something if I hadn’t tried it. So I’d try anything. Although I have to say I was going to try chitterlings one time, but I just couldn’t get past the smell. I’d try this cake, but if it’s very sweet I wouldn’t care for it. I don’t like overly sweet foods, but that’s just a personal preference. I must say it really looks good.
