People will never understand Suicide will never get rid of pain. All it does is transfer all that pain to someone else. It's a vicious cycle.
we lose 23 veterans a day due to suicide i am a veteran this is a fuckin problem we send em off to war and do nothing for when they get home and wonder why ppl cannot adjust maybe invest more money I to our veterans mental health tell me why it takes 3 months for me to see a counselor
I think all that money spent on illegals should of went to our veterans health and well being
Don't you celebrate your birthday! This parade gave soldiers and proud veterans, American citizens a chance to gather and celebrate! That doesn't mean he is trying to be king, which is not even possible. My great grand parents immigrated here before WW1, Im so glad they did.I talk to immigrants who came here legally, and they shout that they love this country. It's not perfect, but nothing is!

PTSD is serious, when your in Iraq, not only do you have to deal with, flys that f... bite. snakes, scorpions, kangroon rats. You need to check your cot before you lay down to make sure you don't have a snake or scorpion in there. And when you want to go to the restroom, you have to put all your f.... gear on. Then you have to check your boots also. The heat miserable, your tent gets hot. That's just the beginning. That's every f... day. For a year. And then you might have occasion mortar coming in. Mentally , a lot of us weren't prepared for this. SHOUT OUT FROM SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. U.S ARMY VETERAN.

Do your homework! The parade and date was approved a year before he was even in office! He never mentioned his bday! The Democrats did and made it seem like he held it on his birthday to celebrate himself! If you’re going to lie at least make sure that it can’t be proven otherwise! It’s to bad that love for your Country is not stronger than your hatred for 1 man! A man who was elected by 70% of the Country! Do I believe in everything he is doing absolutely not! My husband parked on a train track and waited for death. we had 3 children. I kept an eye on him because I dealt with depression. his mom died a year before, and he blamed himself. she passed in a nursing home. he showed no signs of doing what he did. he told me he was going to the store and said " I LOVE YOU" and left.....

I lost my army bro same way . My heart breaks not only for the wife but for her husband. Hardest thing I’ve had to go through.
This is because the cannot stand the pain of what the did. I have always wished that those who want a war go fight who they want a war with but they send young men some who haven’t fully developed mentally yet. I have seen the devastation war has on them. They should have at least debriefed them as long as they trained them, then send them home.
And we should be having a parade spending 45 million this Veterans Day? No we should be investing in the mental and physical health of our veterans that served our country. Trump is wanting this parade to celebrate his birthday. It’s a waste of money is tax payers are paying for?

People are so Judgmental and hateful. You read a sad artical and your comments don’t even pertain to sympathy for the widower. You proceed to involve politics and your hatred. I have to wonder what kind of person are you who can totally blow up an article that is so sad; a man died of sucide, his bride is grieving. This man served his country, made sacrifices most of you arguing have no clue what sacrifices were made for your selfishness and freedom, ungratefulness. I have to wonder without boasting or lying exactly how many years did you serve? I can promise you those men and women go in military and perform their duties as instructed with respect, “Yes Sir” they are taught to grow up and be a man /woman to be proud of. They have learned more in one year than the civilian. They come out proud only to come home to those ungrateful civilians who have no respect or appreciation for their sacrifice’s. When they end their life, do you care enough to reach out offer to be a comfort.
Marine corps here, first battalion armor marines, I also have p t s d, um, and I reckon afghanistan were very unpredictable and ptsd, is a real thing, and it sucks, but we just have to push on as long as you have support from your family, it helps me

I was with my now passed away husband for almost 20 years and he was in Vietnam and was a very troubled man. I don't mean not right in the head; more like not right in his heart! There was almost not a day that passed; that he didn't ask for forgiveness, because he was still alive and came home! I guess you could say he took his own life; unfortunately he did it slowly and in emotional turmoil by the bottle. More help does need to be offered; more importantly it needs to be put out to where our Service people can feel OK about it and not like an outcast!! The approach needs to be revamped and geared towards the Veteran's needs and not what will make everyone else comfortable! They caught for us and now it's time we fight for them!! THANK YOU EVERYONE PRESENT AND PAST; WHO FOUGHT FOR OUR RIGHTS, FREEDOM, AND PROTECTED US!!
It is time for red and blue stop this BS and stand up for the people. It's past time to take care of our vets and all you complaining we do nothing.but keep us from getting things done. It's not a left or right It's a American problem. Quick giving our country away and take care of our own first and foremost.

My son committed suicide while in the Marine Corps He was 21 at the time Would be in his 50’s now A wound that never heals His father I do believe was partially to blame Water under the bridge now however to fathom what goes on in the brain is hard to imagine I do miss him so very much

This is heartbreaking on so many levels! I understand PTSD, especially with VETS! They go through such trauma with constantly being alert, in a deadly war zone, possibly having to kill people that they don't know, kids, families, all bc someone told them, plain and simple, that those people are our enemies, then dealing with friends is blown to pieces, or shot dead, or captured and tortured and brutally murdered! After all of that, they come back to a world where everything they were trained to do is no longer allowed! There's no help for them, some won't go bc they think that people who go to get help are weak, or think they can handle it by themselves! Sadly, most will never be able to truly be in love or feel sadness bc they will never be able to get over where and what they were trained to do and witness, and a lot of survivor's guilt! I truly, and immensely, empathize with her and their family, who will also never be able to get over the fallout!
