SNAP benefits were always supposed to be a "temporary" program, not for lifetime. A working aged adult with no children was only to receive three months and families length based upon the number of children in the household. Elderly and disabled were exemptions. We've become a cradle to grave welfare society that's cultivated poverty and dependency which has diminished the productivity of our economy and independence.
