where is the camshaft position sensor on a 2002 Ford Ranger 2.3

If the camshaft position sensor is filled with metal filings them you have another issue somewhere else. Metal filings are probably clogging other areas of the engine and have ran through it. Meaning its wearing out all your internal parts. This also means something is wrong. Those metal shavings are coming from somewhere? If its iron shavings it can be coming from the rod bearings, pistons, cylinders and I don't believe that car has an Iron block. Probably iron sleeves. Metal shavings is very bad to find a lot of them.
