The point of this clip was to show that some medication in capsules can be turned into liquid and easier to take. Which if you have a hard time swallowing capsules which some people do because of the taste. This just makes it easier that's all.

This is a terrible idea! Especially if the medication is caustic. Some meds are meant to keep the enteric or capsulated coating. How about you go crush some MS contin next, sprinkled with some applesauce and see where that leads you!! 🪦 ☠️ 🪦🤦🏻‍♀️

that's not a good thing to do unless you talk to the pharmacist or the doctor usually the pharmacist because some medications are time to release with different colored little dots inside so that could be dangerous getting the whole thing at once

just a curious thing do you know why some medicine is in tab and some come cap it's time released. so grandma is give you a hot shot of Tylenol...

Where you? can pull each side a part and pour the medicine into a drink or something instead of dissolving the plastic that's around it thats also bad for your body

You need to know what you are taking. That can cjsng how the pills will effect you. Ask your doctor or pharmasist before you do this!

Some of those pills are time released and could be dangerous to do that, and wouldn't that be diluting it? Idk.. I would ask a pharmacist or doctor before you do this to be safe!

Uhm, there are dissolvable capsules for a reason, the medicine needs to slowly work into your body or else it might damage your heart or other important organs. Please speak with your doctor/pediatrician before doing this.

there's absolutely no way to determine exactly how many mg of acetaminophen in each drop of this experiment. it was a gel cap, possibly time released (for a reason). by the way acetaminophen is sold in liquid form. so why?

yeah, except I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to stay in the capsule. I believe that’s the point of the capsules is to dissolve slowly.

This is how we do meds capsules & tabs for patients with g-tubes. Some of the gel coating do not dissolve as nice as this and clog the syringe, so have prep it in advance.

Grandma should not be informed this is not the way to do it...it's a bad trick. Education on medications is a very important. The correct way and the wrong ways. This is time released and should only be taken as directed on bottle or by a Doctor/Nurse, Pharmacist, Healthcare professional.

The enteric coating on these pills are designed for slow release as to not irritate the stomach or digestive tract. Anyone who has ever taken a medication class, nursing class or any class in the medical field and had to take a medication class knows this. You are not supposed to crush, dissolve, break or otherwise tamper with this type of medication. Just fyi. And yes I know this is just a demonstration video on how to easily dissolve a pill.

this will kill you, that is extended release meaning the liner is designed to let out the contained medicine in a controlled manner. doing this literally just exposes you to lethal amounts. source: the day i almost lost my great grandmother who also, believed this was ok

if you're going to do that, capsules like that can be pulled apart. no need to dissolve it that way
