Army vet here. i think the weight helps improve his accuracy when his arms are tired? maybe it simulates muscle fatigue to increase his ability to stay accurate in intense situations? just a thought xD pistol isnt heavy enough to cause accuracy issues if he isnt tired lol. maybe an m249 but not a pistol.
