Personally, I secure the frame and slide with my free hand before ever sticking a pinky in the ejection port. To each their own... I've seen two people drop the slide on their fingers while under stress. Probably not as much fun for them as it was to watch...

Looked like you had a bad mag/mag plate, plate probably wasn’t engaged with retaining pin and recoil popped it off and unloaded all the rounds
so this is the canik i see everyone glazing...
