I wish that I would have been given the chance to meet my father. He died the year before my sister and her children were all killed by her husband. My grandmother sent my mother a sympathy card. I got her address off of it and went to meet her and other family members. It was bittersweet but also wonderful. If only my mother and her mother (my grandmother) would have told me the truth. I met them after I came back from their funerals. I was the only one from my mother's side of the family that went down for it. After all of these years it still affects me in the worst way. And just a year and a half ago I lost my oldest daughter. I'm numb. I also lost the woman who raised me almost 15 years ago. She was killed on Thanksgiving night. She was a wonderful Christian woman. I know loss. I also know that you don't always get over things like this, you just get past it.
