When my youngest daughter was 4, she threw a textbook temper tantrum. I sat in a chair while drinking a Pepsi, and told her, " don't stop because when you fo I'm spanking you." When she finally stopped, she said her throat hurt. I responded, good now, go to bed! She never did that again! Never allow your children rule you.
My daughter tried this once with me. I took the groceries in and filled a two gallon cleaning bucket and walked back to the car to get more groceries, I stepped over to where she was laying with her eyes closed because of the sun. I poured the water on her stomach and she jumped up screaming for Mom. Mom told her she had it coming and to get in the house and get dry clothes on. She didn't talk to me for four hours. But she never tried the stunt again. 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
I'd tell her to watch out for the dog that pees right there every afternoon. and, " If you see him, DON'T RUN. He'll think you are an animal to eat! "

My mom used a yard stick. Dad used his hand! one time, he made me get a switch from a lilac bush. Thought I'd be smart and get a little one.....big mistake! There is a difference between a spanking and a beating. Board of education on the seat of knowledge makes one aware they did something wrong, a learning experience. There is no need to beat a child.

There was a BIG reason for an immediate spanking, in front of the whole neighborhood because she was lying in a driveway right by the vehicle tires and could have been killed if nobody knew she was there!!!

back when raising my children you were allowed to spank. discipling our children the CORRECT way has been taken out of our hands and put in the courts and that's why we have the problems we do with children today. God says spare the rod spoil the child. he isn't saying beat him to death but he does mean for us to discipline our children. if we don't discipline while they are young they will end up belonging to the world with drug and alcohol abuse and sleeping with anyone or finding themselves really being abused or worse killed. I got spanked with a switch that I had to get off the bush for back talking my momma. she balled her eyes out afterwards but I never disrespected my mother ever again. that was a lot better than if my daddy had gotten a hold of me. everyone talked about how respectful my own children were. my kids and I have a great relationship. I disciplined not beat; there is a difference. they find no self worth in an undisplined home.

Gentl parenting, thing that they do nowadays. I feel like is wasting their time. There the level of patience not to mention the amount of stress with trying to deal with something like that. and teaching children to do as they're told when their parents tell them to do things is not abuse, it's discipline and things that they will have to use later on in the world and know that your kids will be somebody else's problem later on in life discipline your kids. Not that hard. Keep your boundaries, do what you say. You're gonna do, and your kids will grow up to be decent human beings. Hopefully, if you haven't ruined them already.
