Most all law-enforcement people at all levels of local state in national government, agencies, and veterans who have been in combat understand completely how quickly this kind of situation can become extremely dangerous to everyone around when you don’t know who is the enemy who is against you. Decisions are made in a split second. So opposing law-enforcement and becoming hostile and physically attack law-enforcement is something that only those people in all situations could ever understand completely even those people who are in corrections and guard in prisons have an idea how chaotic a situation can become instantly so that leaves the other 99.9% of people casting judgment and they have no idea what it’s like to be in that situation and forced to make instant decisions. I command our veterans and I command all agencies of law-enforcement.

No matter what he was whipping out in this footage, those agents have a duty to put him down. He was a known threat, armed in a crowd of people, acting in a violent and unstable manner. If you want to blame law enforcement for protecting themselves, and other protesters even, it might have something to do with a pre existing bias against law enforcement and the situation in general.
