To anyone who bitched about her technique, she actually did it well. Not perfect but good. She should have applied more pressure however mouth to mouth is no longer used in CPR. Only chest compression. She did right.
All these comments about her inability to do her job has me wonderingโฆ. What have you done lately? Look at what sheโs trying to do while the rest of the world just drives by or stops to get their phone out to record instead of help. Be honest with yourself. Would you help, drive by or video? Me? I ALWAYS stop to help! Itโs the way my generation did things before cellphones existed.
Thats a hero. I am alive today because a fireman on his way home with his daughter today. In September I had a heart attack while driving. I hit the fire man and pushed his car into the street while coding. when my wife got my foot off the pedal he jumped out pulled me out the car and did CPR on me until EMS arrived. He even told his daughter to help my wife know everything will be OK and they would not leave us. I have been thanking God for that man and the beautiful child of his every since I woke up two days later and my wife told me everything that happened. When people love each other that really does do something great especially in a community.
Heroโs perform CPR on their knees..that is not fast or deep enough.
Yeah she's following current protocol and training. Folks saying she's not must have outdated info. I read that the man survived thanks to her efforts. God bless her and all other LEOs who live by their oath to protect and serve. ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

Itโs evident that this cop needs training on proper CPR - those arenโt compressions, thatโs just an ineffective massage. Thatโs a disgrace to all first responders that actually save lives!
What is wrong with you people commenting on this man being fat & the police officer not doing CPR correctly? His life was saved, regardless. Negative know-it-alls make me sick to my stomach. Make a change for the better instead of being hateful & miserable.

that's what the hospital did to me when I was an emergency room and they crushed my sternum in my chest and I got an indentation to this day and it happened 12 to 15 years ago
I know if I have a heart attack I want the biggest heaviest person to do it. I was in ER years ago will never forget it on other side of curtain a asmatic patient was brought in 2 Dr nurses everyone kept doing chest compressions but couldn't bring her back after about what seemed like 10 minutes they were going to call time of death. but split second they had a male heavyset nurse come over he could do deeper compressions. he got her back.. only problem I wonder if there was brain damage.

They do have "hands only cpr" she is doing the right thing if she is uncomfortable putting her mouth on him. She can keep him alive until emergency personnel alive this way. She is trying, unlike anyone else
I'm more concerned no one stopped to help her until medical shows up. or at least blocked that other lane. I'm not great at intervention but I would have tried to help in some way.

This hits different this is what my uncle just went through but he didnโt make it and now Iโm in Texas saying my good byes he wasnโt on drugs or anything it was just his time I miss him so much

Was obvious a lot of you people havenโt been certified in CPR and first aid. All the old shit you know is gone. They donโt do that shit anymore. There is no breath. You donโt breathe in their mouth. All you do is chest depression. You have to do 100 compressions a minute. Thatโs more than most People could probably give in 60 seconds. My son won a gold medal because him and his partner gave perfect CPR. And this man is a little bit thick. Sheโs probably depressing his chest about as far as she can. Everybody thinks that they could do whatever this officer is doing. But when the time comes when someone needs help a lot of people just turn around and walk the other way. You cannot be sued for helping someone. Doing CPR on someone is not easy. It is so hard. Doing 100 chest compressions and 60 seconds is almost unthinkable. But thatโs how itโs done. This officer actually saved this manโs life. All she needed was someone to trade off a bit so she could rest.๐ฅฐ

mouth to mouth I was always taught , chest compressions and mouth to mouth resuscitation should be used, using only chest compressions only pumps the heart it doesn't give them any air to start breathing. CPR class should have showed her all of this ๐๐ฉ I hope the guy lived tho and is ok ๐

I wish someone would have stopped to help her instead of record a video and drive past... CPR is one of the most exhausting tasks, especially alone
ICU nurse here - while she definitely needed to be going much deeper, this would still be somewhat pumping the blood while she waits for help. giving CPR is so much adrenaline, and in the hospital you have people around you cheering you on and giving constructive feedback on technique. and if you've never learned CPR, just know it's a damn workout!! she looks like she's been doing it for a minute waiting for help. that's why we switch out every 2 minutes generally! good for this cop. I'm sure once you give CPR in that situation, you're going to learn and work to improve technique in the case of a next time.
