What will happen if it's a defective wire and it breaks and the broken wire hits the ground?

I'm grateful for living in So. California, with its pleasant weather. Other than the disasterious leadership governor Newsom.

many years ago power companies used to have crews doing that to keep lines from falling and losing power. guess it makes too much sense to do it now!

As a child living in Indiana I would see this . Snow and ice would form on the wires and you had to be carefull about crossing under them . Ice spears would fall off sometimes puncturing into under passing vehicles . It was bad enough to just drive the snowy and icy roads .
