In the local animal control I came upon one cage with a severe shaking tan ball of fur. Within 10 minutes she was leaning up against me. The agent and I looked at one another and agreed, she chose me. Now o er 5 years later she's a very happy girl fully grown and 96 pounds.
My cat did this! I was leaving the shelter after not finding one that spoke to me when this cat I hadn’t noticed (he was sleeping in a hammock in a separate cage) reached out and grabbed my sleeve. I’ve had him 14 years now!
My shelter baby girl chose me too! When I looked up at her in her cage, she tilted her head, jumped up and started clawing at the cage like I was there specifically to get her out! Picture below was her first day HOME! It’s been three and half years of love and attitude. She’s so feisty! 🥰
i can't go to the shelters. it would tear me up not taking all of them. i have 3 all 3 have been strays. running lose hungry people being mean to them. they are all great dogs. love them so much it hurts.

Saw a dog online and went to the shelter to see her. In the holding area with many people she ran right to me sat at my feet all skinny and dirty and just locked eyes with me! 1 1/2 yrs later she still is always by my side. Yes they choose you!!!

mine didn't look at us twice, she was so busy looking for all her people friends at the shelter. I passed her up. However I saw her still there a few weeks later, plus her deafness, I thought I'd take a chance. Now she's my baby.
Yes I sure hope they took that dog home too I keep saying I'm going to get a hundred acres fenced in and get all the stray dogs from the shelters everywhere and just let them roam free. I am an animal advocate and that's what I want to do let them just have fun and 100 acres or run around and be happy and content

Going home today
My last girl did that to me as well. We had 16.5 years . l still miss her. It's been a couple years now, l am trying to be sure I'm medically stable before adopting again. But when l do, this is how I will pick my new furbaby.❤️🙏

I went to the local shelter to adopt a dog. She stared clicking my hand and grand told to adopt her. I did. She was the sweetest dog. Before she died she licked my hand. She was saying goodbye to me. I still miss her to this day💕💕💕💕

This is exactly how we ended up with our first Australian Shepherd! We went to the Animal Shelter in Austin when we built our house. My daughter wanted a puppy so we were looking at these adorable fluffballs, but right next to them was this kinda scrawny reddish blonde about 9 months old puppy that had big paws and kept whining at Jacque so she would pet her. Finally jacque asked if she could just play with her for a little bit and I said of course. Next thing I know we're taking home an Australian Collie that grew up to weight about 86 lbs instead of the sweet little fluffy puppy we started with 🥰
That is the one that will love you until the day they die no matter what. I've always adopted dogs and you just know the one no matter if itvtakes 5 minutes or days to find them. It's love.🥰

When I was young, my siblings and I received a golden retriever for Christmas. She was beautiful but too powerful. Our laundry man - drunk - hit her and she died. One of my brothers got very ill; on his doctor's advice, we went to a shelter where we were chosen by a very loving and greatly loved mutt. Fluffy lives on in our hearts.

That’s the keeper! We bought our first dog 50 years ago almost, a golden retriever we named Briggadune he was a fantastic dog! Now we adopt our dogs! We just adopted last April 30 an American Pit Bull named Marbles! She’s added so much joy to our lives! There are so many wonderful animals that need homes! They spend their lives loving you and giving you their heart‘s! 🥰🐾🙏🏼
