My parents did use the belt, switch and no follow-up like standing in a corner or time out or getting grounded. Just instant punishment, the end. We learned what was wrong and remembered. We grew up to be hard working adults. My parents were not told by law not to punish... My Dad would have went to jail. Now kids don't work, disrespect their parents but still want them to raise them. I worked, bought my first car my clothes and with the money I earned had a apartment and full time job and on my own at 17. Bought my first home at 19. And all my girls have done the same.

That's exactly what's missing from our youth today. Too many adults won't hold their children accountable, physically or otherwise. There are many reasons not to but the 1 big reason to do it, IS THE CHILD'S growth, and teaching them rules. respect and accountability...how will they learn those things if we are too scared to do what we need to do for THEM!!!

That's hilarious! he is so smooth with the dance moves and starting to take off that belt! I bet that room got cleaned up in a hurry!! back in the day if they even had to say let me get that belt,you were scrambling to get it done. These disrespectful kids today could use some of the old ways. There is absolutely nothing βcoolβ, βfunnyβ, nor right about this. I am 55 years old and was tortured with the belt (from the time i was 8 until I was 18 and left home) even using the teeth end of the belt so badly that Iβd have welts large enough that my βmomβ then had to make up excuses with the principal for me to be allowed to wear sweats to school because my normal cloths wouldnβt go over the welts inflicted upon me. Way back then you couldnβt just wear anything you wanted to school.

So you think that all children that grew up in a home where there parents punish them are crimals no they're not, when your grown they usually raise your children without the belt but if they have to they try not to use it as a way of disaplaning to much. But some of them try to talk to them as well. It's all about what kind of maturity level that your on in order to change that cycle of bad parenting ok. And I wouldn't call all parents bad parents but some people that have alot of problems that they can't deal with they get up set and blame the children and they take it out on the children and its not the children fault, its the parents fault for not thinking things throw before allowing violence into there home.
