I grew up in Los Angeles, so I wasn't exposed to farm animals. During a trip to the UK, I stayed with friends. They had a lovely cow pasture. There was one cow, in particular that came to the fence when she saw me! It was a treat to be face-to-face with this beautiful creature! She was brown, and white, with brown spots on her head. I asked my friends what her name was and they said, "Not our cows," that a local farmer had been using their pasture. During my visit, I'd walk to the edge of the pasture, in hopes that one of those cows would come to the fence. I was surprised when the same cow came to the fence each time she saw me!! I will never forget her big, gorgeous, deep brown eyes, long eyelashes. I was overwhelmed with gratitude. I don't want to get started on my visit to Northern England during lambing season, I held a newborn lamb, and it was heavenly! Seeing this beautiful video triggered my memories of the nameless cow at the fence. Thanks

It鈥檚 true, cows are a lot like dogs. Much bigger of course! They come when called. They love pets and brushing! Snacks oh my, they love treats too!! I helped raise many a cow, rabbits, chickens, dogs, geese & pigs! Cut up beef and venison at the kitchen table! Farming is awesome!! Came home from kindergarten and our heifer Brownie had given birth!! It was awesome! Always ran to the barn yard straight from the school bus!!

Just saw a cow who'd taught herself how to use different ends of a rake depending on which areas of herself she wanted to scratch. Animals are getting smarter and/or we're better at recognizing how smart they are. In either case, we must respect all animals! 馃グ
