That is what engineers do, they come up with something that could sell real well, I feel sorry for the man who was fired, but if I was a contractor, I would hire that man to come work for me and get him to market his device.

The Boss is an idiot here's an employee using his head by building this cart, it's easier on his back which could get hurt on the job and sue the company and then it speeds up the work on the job site causing less time to complete.
