At one time they used to say it help with making your silverware look better. Its more of a myth to me as it can also be the worst thing you can do for your dishwasher. It does nothing for your glassware as some think it makes it shiner. Nope not to me. I don't want to take chances and try it with my silicone stuff. If you try it good luck I hope all turns out good. You can also ask Google why or why not put a ball of foil in dishwasher and see what Google says.
