That's not a polka dot pan. It's a perforated pan and it's meant to be used on an outdoor grill. It's designed so you can BBQ foods that might fall through the regular grate, while still allowing for fat drainage and direct heat cooking.

My fault, it's 2nd hand. Still don't use metal abrasive but now I see why you used all those chemicals. All you needed to do was soak it in water bleach mix, thameb wash it with dish soap
