Why are homeowners having to go to this length of destruction to remove a complete stranger from their properties? If I walk in my house and strangers are in my house that qualifies me to protect myself in my home. 😁 And I certainly will do just that.
Someone on my street had squatters in their rental unit so the brother in law owns a pet store so he put snakes in the house, it wasn't long before they left voluntarily. 😆

Squatters rights and nothing happens but if you miss a rent payment you have 24hrs to get out makes no sense the law is so twisted I been in my apartments for 12 years now and my rent still goes up every renewal i feel anyone that lives in the same apartment complex for so long the rent shouldn’t go up.
contract law states any realty must have a contract, in most every state. squatters dont have a contract they should be removed by police, period. Judges, lawyers, and prosecuting attorneys that didnt go to law school, like in my case for 20 plus years, dont care. My case: 80 questions on corruption of Yavapai County. I know it's should be illegal for squatters to just take over your place, but wouldn't this be illegal for him to cement the house? What if a fire broke out and there's no way out and several people die from it, then he would face a murder charge from it, wouldn't he? I wish the homeless people stop breaking in our apartment staircase to sleep it's getting scary and beyond ridiculous. I pray I can find me a different place to move soon
We had squatters, it took us 7 months to get them out, freakin horrible, no one ever understands what it's like to be a homeowner, we start out fair, and we try to be fair but squatters take advantage, so I understand this completely why they did this.

if they step foot in your house and have any mail addressed there that is considered their place of residence and you have to legally have them evicted which cost around $300 my mother has had to do this twice now. The laws are not on the owners side which is a damn shame especially when they are elderly and that house is all they have that they worked so hard for!!
my best friend came home from a 18 month deployment had squatters.they refused to leave..himself 5 friends rolled both of them up in huge rug.threw them out 2 nd story window..then when they finally got free from rug pelted them with there tv and everything they brought into house

I know two people in New York state had this happen...took one two years and the other over three years to have them removed ... not to mention the money for courts plus all the damages to the property. Nothing for the squatters...no jail time...no nothing.

I have my own ways of getting squatters out, I grew up in an undesirable neighborhood, I made friends in that neighborhood and still know plenty of people from that hood who would gladly help rid these squatters for something in return
I bought a house in Texas, and I am glad I did. The laws there are far friendlier to landlords than they are to tenants. Squatters can be removed as quickly as deadbeat renters. you give three days' notice, then file an eviction suit. As soon as you have the hearing and get the writ of eviction, the police can be called to remove the people from the house. 4-6 weeks start to finish. Not great. But it's better than most places.

My husband aunt here in Louisiana,had a renter.They stayed a few months and during the night,stole everything in the house.Hot water heater, stove,ice box,copper wiring copper pipes, kitchen sink,bath tub, bathroom sink,toilet,etc.After that,she sold the house to a cousin.He fixed it back up and lived there forever.By the way,the house was out in the country and out of sight.
That is actively illegal. It's considered wrongful imprisonment. You just got yourself some legal issues worse than just a couple squatters.
