We had something similar happen to our water main on a Saturday and the water company told us they couldn't have anyone out until Monday trying to quote 1200. Monday my ass, thanks for nothin, got it done same day with help from a plumber in our family at the cost of a pipe from the hardware store.

Fire hydrants are meant to take hits. Not all of them do this. There is a valve beneath the fire hydrant. So it must’ve been a pretty good hit to take out that valve also.
