We are still a constitutional republic and the U.S. Constitution says that **Congress** - not the President - directs military decisions and only Congress has war powers. The president is only Commander in Chief *AFTER* Congress votes and passes a war act - not before!!! And until Congress declares war, the President has ZERO to say about what the military does or doesn't do and he sure as hell doesn't have a dogda*n thing to say about what Congress does or says!!! Seated members of Congress can say whatever the **** they want about what the military should do or not do.
