I have 9 kids, never been on govt assistance, and I am not rich by any means, i just work like I'm supposed to. I makem, I raisem I pay for them.
I don't understand how they got $2800 in food stamps. My mother was 70 years old. She tried to get food stamp she got. $9.00 for food. $9.00 a month. and she didn't have nice things. So how are this people getting $2800 in food stamps? Somebody else said she was getting.$4000. I didn't feel that she needed to have a lot of money but maybe $50. in food Stamps Would have been better than $9.

I have seven grown kids, never had food stamps or welfare, I taught my kids to work and no one will ever give them anything. I now have 11 grandchildren and none of them have ever been raised on government hand outs. its hard but everyone except the disabled and veterans should get checks. its time to grow up and be productive. I've worked since I was 14 years old and haven't stopped and im 52 years old.

How about stop relying on tax payers to feed your family? If you can’t afford food without assistance sounds like you need to keep your pants zipped! Assistance is not for your entire life especially when you’re able body to work. Not to mention you can afford a cell phone which you have to pay monthly. Get your priorities straight.

see now this right here is exactly what is and has been wrong the whole time. people that are able to work just not wanting to get an unreal amount of help. while the ones who truly need it can't get it. my husband was diagnosed with cancer I was trying to take care of him and my dad who also had cancer but yet I still made to much money after paying all the bills. so of course that left me getting two jobs just to be able to pay rent. all the while still trying to get insurance for my husband who had stage 4 hybrid colon cancer.
This guy should be ashamed of himself not working because he's got kids well he has a wife and if he can't afford supporting these kids why is he having more??? Like my daddy said to me when I was 17 years old and pregnant and married, he said "You made your bed so now you sleep in it", in other words I created the situation I'm in so now I need to take care of it and not complain.
I had six kids four of my own and two step kids 2 years to 12 never been on food stamps never been on welfare got up every morning took my kids to daycare and went to work. my ex left me with with our 4 and his 2 . took me several years to track down his ex-wife to make her take their kids back.

I am 72 years old and my husband is 73 we are both retired we live on about $2,000 a month no food stamps I am raising my 15-year-old grandson and guess what I'm not on welfare I'm not on ADC if we need extra money my 73-year-old husband goes out and does our jobs to make it grow up pair of nuts buddy

they actually made much needed tweaks. now you have to be employed, disabled or show proof you are looking for work or they don't give you anything. I personally know people that didn't used to qualify even though they don't make enough at their job to take care of everything but now they take all your bills into account so now they qualify for assistance. but I also know multiple lazy people that have been just trying to live off the government that had their assistance cut because they refuse to try and better their lives. let us see if hunger makes them get their lives together

I'm not sure if it's the same in every state but I do know of people in Tennessee that get $200 month on EBT for each person in the home.

there's food banks meal programs at church's,firehouses , I know here in Washington state that I can get 3 meals a day from different groups everyday, private people no government involved, after school childcare at boys and girls clubs, shelters even though people have food stamps they can't use it to buy products because the shelters don't allow outside food in the building ,so they end up selling the money on the card for cash there's a guy that sells 400.00 food stamps in exchange for 200.00 cash, goes out to buy pot and alcohol, so there's a way to still feed your children there are places out there that will help with childcare you just have to get off your butt to research this in your state I blame the states for enabling you not to become self reliant, also public health places for medical are free, hospitals can't deny you or your children Healthcare, they even help with the bill sometimes takes care of all of it.
