Tariffs are definitely good but slow acting to spur the economy. Our current job growth will increase in about two years due to todays tariffs.What is immediate is the counter tariff and boycotts effect upon inflation. They reduce exports in food, and energy, then resource availability rises and prices stabilize or fall. Trumps strategy will lower inflation and, at about the midterm election, lead to low prices and full employment. He is no fool. He does not mind a short term rise in clothing, appliances, and car prices as long as food and gas fall and employment rises by the midterm election. I really am impressed with him.
So we pay more for foreign products than we'd save by having no income tax. Dumbest thing I've heard all day. Don't tarrif products we can't make here. All that does is cost consumers more money.
