They have access to the money, so they spend it. It was the same at my former workplace. At the end of the year, people were told to use the leftover money or lose it. So they regularly wasted it on things we didn't need.

The contributions are a point of controversy due to a massive, ongoing federal investigation into alleged pandemic-relief fraud schemes, such as the "Feeding Our Future" program, where over 90 people—most from Minnesota's large Somali community—have been charged with stealing billions of dollars by billing the state for meals and services that were never provided. Critics have questioned the oversight of the Walz administration and suggested political considerations may have influenced the handling of red flags.

Sadly, I do not find this shocking. It is hand in hand with a bloated Government with insufficient overview. This is business as usual for a Socialist Government. I thank the president for downsizing and actually having agencies start look into fraud and theft of tax payer monies. The average everyday citizen sees this going on yet supposedly educated elected officials don’t see it. I would say they only play dumb because a lot of this fraud ends up in those officials pockets. It’s everywhere in this country.

Now the outflow of cash to address addictions and mental health has also become a black hole for fraud- imagine my surprise- we have increased these budgets repeatedly and the addiction and mental health crisis has gotten worse… hmm
Everyone in those positions that are in charge of handing out or verifying the applications for grants that have been found to be tied to fraudulent transactions should be black listed, charged with some very big fines attached to them. It's time to make an example of the state tied to the biggest fraud case in U.S. history so other heads of state across the U.S. take note of what could happen and maybe deter them from trying it in the future. Working for the federal government or the state government doesn't mean "let's see if we are given or find an opportunity to get paid extra by any means available." How many people have we seen in government jobs who seem to be living way above their means of salary? Maybe its time to create a police force dedicated to only monitoring government workers-officials that are allowed access to state and federal funding, just until they are bribed to turn a blind eye to fraudulent activity.
