A woman was rescued this morning after her car went off State Highway 18 near Big Bear Lake, dropping more than 200 feet down a rocky slope in an area known as the “Arctic Circle.”Despite being injured, she managed to call 911 and climb out of the wreckage. Crews hiked down to reach her, treated her on the hillside, and then used a rope system to lift her back up the mountain.She was airlifted to a trauma center with moderate to severe injuries.CHP is investigating what caused the crash.

The stepfather is a fool, he should’ve slowed down or do whatever it takes to get away from that vehicle. Now that poor baby is gone, he should be charged with something.

I hope someone got video because if both were actively road raging then the stepfather should be charged too. Stepfather could have slowed down and deescalated and let that young punk move on. I don’t know what happened but if stepfather was escalating the road rage too then he also needs to be held accountable for that child’s death. If he accidentally cut someone off and was trying to deescalate his car ramming was purely self defense then he should be fine. I hope there’s multiple dash cam so the child and his family can get justice accordingly!

The Chief is totally correct. This inconsiderate road rage, reckless speeders have to come to an end. What’s the big deal, if a right of way is taken? Or in your mind you feel you were wronged? You should never take the law into your own hands, and pass judgment on anyone. It’s not the flow of traffic, it’s the maximum speed limit. If everyone would follow the basic road laws, there would be less traffic congestion and accidents. Drivers speeding, in and out of lanes, causing other drivers to break, is what causes a potential for an accident and heightened the possibility for fatalities. Don’t be inconsiderate, breathe and relax. The world is moving fast enough! Relax, and love your neighbor (drivers). Nothing is worth hostility. I recently had to put a dash cam to provide evidence against such driver. I will do my part to assist with law enforcement endeavors.

Sending Prayers to the family...people are getting out of control..I had a man pull out in front of me..I blew my horn at him and when we made it to the red light, we where side by side and I looked over there at him and he was pointing a gun at me. I ran the red light and didnt stop for about 1 hour...

Our highway are horrible everyday and it not because of speeding.Yes we have idiots going way to fast but even more over cautious drivers struggling to maintain the flow of traffic or even get up to the posted speed limits causing so many unnecessary backups like the one today that ended up resulting in a sad tragedy.
