In 2014, I fell into an unfortunate situation and applied for food stamps for my three boys and I. In 6 months I was back on my feet. I was in shock that it took a full year to convince them I no longer needed the assistance. A full year of making too much money to qualify for the program. A full year of telling them to stop. I am glad it was there when I truly needed it, but I felt as though they actually wanted to keep me on the system.
Looks like +2 million people need to start looking for work. WAIT - THEY can replace all the work that’s open since we started deporting illegals back home. You know, the stuff “no one” wants to do
Snap was designed to assist not live off of ! Go get a job , I don’t want to work anymore then they do but I go and I get drug tested, how about them ! If you receive any type of assistance you should be subject to random drug test just like me and I go to work every day!

it used to be like this some years back. I was on them shortly but had to go to workforce office for job training and find a job in order to keep them after 90 days.

Why ? those over 65 are exempt. Those with children 14 and under are exempt. This is also not ft work only pt and doesn’t take effect for 5 months. Able bodied persons should have zero issues

When I used assistance, it was expected to get off and find a job and not get comfortable because they weren't going to allow long term dependency on welfare. Somehow, that all changed somewhere along the way.

I lost my job several years ago and I didn't have Health Insurance. I went to the free clinic where there were 6 pregnant Spanish women and they did not speak English. Sitting there waiting to be seen by the doctor I go to sign in and the nurse smiles and she says. How can I help you? I said I think I've got bronchitis and she says. Do you own house? I said I do but have recently been laid off. And I need all the funds to pay the mortgage. She says you're not going to qualify for free visit. You'll have to go to the emergency center. Where I encourage a $700 bill. At that moment it really changed my perspective. If I don't get it for free, neither should you.
