I work in a cabinet shop, building custom cabinets, furniture etc. Trust me when I say that when I have a piece of lumber that has split like that…there is no way I’m gonna take 20+ minutes to do all that gluing, clamping, drilling. I’ll be trimming that end off and move on with the job🙄

Yes. But it’s probably not worth the trouble. Just throw it away and get another piece of wood.
Being a carpenter and contractor all my life, I would cut that piece off, or when I go in to get wood, I would not take that piece, unless I knew I could cut the split part off. That is a senseless waste of time and money....IMO
The average carpenter will toss that board, get another one that isn't split and charge you for both boards.

It was a foot too long so he had to cut it off after he repaired it. 👍🏼
