HOT

why is he frustrated? I'm not a mechanic or know about cars so here's the question, after it drain, doesn't he just have to fill it up with oil and that's it? or he needs to take it apart for any reason?

When a car overheats but people keep driving it instead of stopping and letting it cool down, the engine head bent or becomes warped or damaged head gasket allowing the coolant to mix with the engine oil and it's all downhill from there.

He must’ve accidentally open where the oil goes and put water or antifreeze in. My ex-husband that went and got a 5 gallon jug of water and he also had gas for the tractor in the back truck. He was 5 miles from home and it was nighttime. He went to back of truck and grab the 5 gallon jug of water into the gas tank.

but I think some of the coolant in the oil because when the coolant on a head gasket goes it makes the oil milky looking not clear White

looks like it's winter, I'd say they had added straight water to the radiator and it froze and cracked the block.

A blown head gasket replacement typically costs between $1,000 and $4,000, depending on the vehicle's make and model, and the complexity of the engine. Labor costs can account for a significant portion of this expense.

To the rookie car owners in the comments and for future commentary: This happens when a car overheats and warps the cylinder head, which is 1 main part to the intake manifold assembly(not good) or blows the head gasket, which is the seal needed to transfer coolant thru the manifolds jacket to keep the engine cool(repairable, but still costly and laborious). He said thats where the coolant went. Which means the owner drove the car while it was overheating, to the point where he probably heard knocking. This means the coolant was released from its jacket, into the camshaft, lifters, and arms down into the pistons and exhaust manifolds(if you see blue smoke out your exhaust, that means oil is being mixed with the gas😬). Coolant drains all the way down into the oil pan. Driving with low oil or overused oil can overheat a vehicle too. Simple routine maintenance will prevent this from happening.

For all the ones saying blown gasket and coolant mixing with oil… 1. I have NEVER in my life seen clear antifreeze and 2. Since water and oil don’t mix, looks likely that they put water in the oil fill. Oil floats to the top so water comes out first followed by oil. Potential damage? Yes. Dumb? Again yes. Avoidable? Maybe
