It’s really sad how many comments I had to reply to just now. The amount of people that actually legitimately think it’s OK to pass a bus with its lights on is insane. What’s also insane is how they think that in their state it’s OK, but then I go and look up their state law and it says the exact same thing as every other state law. That’s probably because it’s not a state law and states don’t get to decide that. It’s a federal law. Which means it applies to every state in this land. It doesn’t change from state to state. There may be very minor details that they can change around, but the basis is still the same. No matter where you are in the country, if you’re traveling the same direction as the bus, no matter how many lanes there are, you’re required to stop. The only exception is if you’re going the opposite direction and there is a physical barrier between the two directions of travel, in which case you aren’t required to stop.

I agree 💯 but does the bus have it's RED lights on?? It doesn't look like it in the video... I see the yellow warning lights but hard to tell if the Reds are on .. maybe it's just my phone.. ?? As a school bus driver of over 20 years, I have seen this too many times. The penalties should be significant.

not only is it expected but common sense it's a kids school bus for crying out loud if your kid road a bus I'm sure it would change there mindset. or at the very least be cautious of children kids are told to look both ways at home and in school but in all reality sometimes just as we get distracted kids do too if not more so as an adult having the responsibility of other ppls lives in ur hand you should know better.

if I was the sheriff's department I would right every single one of them a ticket and they would pay that ticket that's for sure you have to stop for a school bus I don't give a care how big a hurry you're in if a school bus stops in front of you you stop. that might be one of my children getting off that bus.

well if I'm on the road and see the bus stopped I do 2 things. 1 I stop at a slight angle blocking the other lane. 2 if you wanna try to run pass that bus you'll be hitting my truck. my kids and our children are getting off that bus.take the time to stop and be consider others lives. doesn't matter what side the bus Is stopped on the kids sometimes have to cross the street. I use to have to walk across the street because of how the bus stop was. so be mindful
