I will never understand how squatters aren't trespassers. Fake lease? It's easy to prove that. Why does it take so long when a landlord can terminate your legit lease and get you out in 72 hours? If someone breaks into your shed, the cops come and take them away. I don't see the difference.🤔

squatters and tenants are hard to get out because the law favors them over a landlord. That came about because landlords were being dicks and were doing just about anything to get people out of their homes. Landlords cannot shut off the utilities or go into the home unless there is an emergency within the home. There is an unequal power situation between the renter and the landlord. Our state favors the tenant. I have been a landlord And had to evict someone. I'm not going to be a landlord again!!

That's the difference between being a renter and owning a home. Renters can be given a 30 day notice and if they don't go you have to take them to court to get an unlawful detainer. Unless the judge says otherwise you have to be out in 7 days and if not the sheriff may move you out . When you own a home the bank has to foreclose on the property and that can take a long time and could be as long as a couple years .

squatters I don't see how people can actually do that stuff? I have been homeless in Hawaii living under a trap in some very beautiful places and I loved it. but when I moved back home to Seattle I instantly went into a shelter and ended up getting put into low income housing and I am happy to be living here now. I live on the fifth floor with a beautiful view of the city and I am able to survive just fine on a fixed income. so there are a lot better options to get by on than squatting! these people need to come up with a better plan than that
