Derrick Goodin (21), got into an argument with a woman over money on the bridge. When a friend of the woman, Anthony Mascaro (33), intervened, Goodin allegedly threw the woman's bike into the river, and then picked up Mascaro and threw him over the railing as well. ​The Arrest: A Daytona Beach Police officer, Christopher Mayer, was driving past at the exact moment and witnessed the man being thrown off the bridge. The officer immediately stopped, drew his weapon, and ordered Goodin to surrender. The Outcome: The victim was rescued by a local man in a rowboat and sustained minor injuries (a gash on his head). Both victims refused to press charges, but Goodin was arrested by police and charged with aggravated battery causing bodily harm and breach of the peace, based on the officer's testimony and video evidence.
