Good points. In the past people had to work harder to survive and lifespans were not as long. People were busy all day just to get by and it was a lot more to give up after all the work it took just to have food and shelter. Divorce was shameful. There is no more shame in divorce for one thing. Even if you are just dating there are two types of cheaters. There are the serial cheater who does it for the thrill or power trip- the hunt. That includes the shallow self absorbed types. The other is the comfort seeker. Sometimes people stop appreciating each other or doing things to keep the bond. I have seen it so many times in people I know. They don’t stay on the same page but they still love their partner but feel neglected or some emotional aspects are off. I don’t think it’s what he said about not wanting the partner, but some people suck at communicating, or listening or remembering relationships are work. You have to do the work to make it good and keep it alive.
