It’s hard to tell if the ship is moving or not . The boat has to do at least 10 mph and face a certain way for planes to land. I was on the USS ranger and we did circles all day long specially when they do there touch and go practice. Another good information you never go on the flight deck with no weight on you . The vest they wear have weight in them so they don’t get sucked up or blown off the ship when a plane turns on the flight deck . I learned the hard way. Well I got yelled at big time . I popped out of the door way almost at the wrong time and no weight on me . Just as a jet turned. Scared crap out of me.

Lilly that was a touch n go; the reason that plane landed last was because in order to maintain your pilot license you have to have so many touchdowns and takeoff as well as flight hours and study hours so he came in last where she because they were gonna do a touch and go to be accredited one more touch and go meaning takeoff and landing! It’s not that they missed the arresting cable. They never attempted to fully land only land enough to do a touch and go to get credits towards their license.
