The guy in the video said it was “Conch”pronounced (konk), it’s not chitterlings or pork. It’s a large marine snail that can grow up to 1-2 feet and is considered protein. You can eat it raw, sauté it or boil it in a broth like soup. It’s very delicious when cooked. Unfortunately, conch populations have declined due to overharvest, habitat loss and changing oceans, and were listed as an endangered species in 2024.

I know conch is expensive to buy just a half pound, because I used to make seafood salad and that’s one of the favs to add to the salad. I don’t eat seafood food but I make it for the family and they enjoy it. And if you know how to handle conch it gets tender and flavorful. 👍🏼bon appeti!!
