This is total nonsense. I'm from an island surrounded by water and spent a lot of time in that water. I would lay on my back and just float c

Genetic Similarity: Humans are 99.9% identical at the DNA level, with very little variation distinguishing one population from another. All these people with "degrees" saying otherwise are wrong. You cannot distinguish race from DNA.... 🤡

That’s kind of ridiculous. I think mainly the reason is because Black people don’t get exposed to water early on because swimming pools and things like that are predominantly in upper class houses which historically Black people have been kept out of. I feel it’s the same reason why you don’t see black equestrian, riders or black figure skaters necessarily. And before the William sisters, you rarely saw Black people in Tennis. Those are all associated with uppercrust white people.

The idea that African Americans are inherently or "negatively" buoyant (meaning they naturally sink) is a myth that has been debunked by recent research and scientists. While some studies have pointed to slight variations in average bone density and body fat distribution between different populations, these differences do not make individuals of African descent unable to float.

I’m black, I can float. I can swim, Floating can be taught. My Black brothers and sisters learn to swim get in the water and don’t be a casualty.

[Debunking the Myth]: The belief that "heavy bones" prevent Black individuals from floating is a myth. While some studies suggest slightly higher bone density in Black populations, it is not a limiting factor for buoyancy. Scientific Evidence: A 2025 study found that higher bone mineral density showed no correlation with reduced floating competence. Key Factors for Floating: A person's ability to float depends on their overall density (fat, muscle, and, crucially, air in the lungs) rather than their race. Cultural Factors: The lower participation in swimming among some Black communities is largely driven by historical, cultural, and socioeconomic factors, rather than physiological limitations.

Most of the people I saw that could not swim were weightlifters. Not just that they couldn’t relax they fought the waters the way they lift weights. We not so muscular had buoyancy. It was a lot of fun gliding down to the bottom and say stand up 😆it was only 5ft of water. It’s not that they couldn’t swim their skill set is different. 😆pumping water didn’t work. 😆😆.

Recent studies have debunked the myth that people of African, Caribbean, and Asian heritage cannot float due to "heavy bones" or higher bone density. While research indicates that individuals of Black heritage may have a slightly higher bone mineral density on average, this does not dictate swimming ability or prevent successful floating.
