I've done this many times the only open pump and I came in on that side. I too it and did actually that. no problem
gas hoses we're not designed to be used that way and many times the gas hose will break. the attendant at the gas station has the ability to shut your pump off at any time. it is illegal to run your vehicle while you are pumping gas.
