Eating catfish is a great southern tradition. The catfish are bottom feeders.... they ear poop from other fish. My x-inlaws would have big cat fish fries... and eat the meat of the catfish that was nourished on fish poop. In the north we didn't cat catfish bc of this.😲😆

If you're an outdoorsman you recognize when a deer hunter makes a pile of corn to lure in the deer. There is a special breed not whitetail deer but aqua deer That lives in swamps and lake areas and they swim around and dive under the water feeding on underwater plants and corn piles. This is similar but yet different from the videos you see of moose standing deep in water and putting their heads underneath the water to eat plants growing there under the water.

Growing up in Mississippi, we are attracted catfish by using spoiled cheese that stuff so bad when I look at a video I can still smell it. We put it inside of a net of fish swimming, but they could not swim out.
