it's called board of pharmacy, depending on who and what you're investigating you can obtain records from them but not directly from the pharmacy itself

She is absolutely 💯 percent correct. I used to be a certified pharmacy technician 2. And the law states that pharmacies cannot give out customers personal information under the HIPPA act without a court order signed by a judge in that county. You can't just walk up to the counter and think because you're law enforcement that you are automatically going to get a customers personal information. It doesn't work like that.
I’m not sure if law enforcement can get a warrant for those records or not and I’m not sure if law enforcement can get the records of a doctor in relationship to us? yes I know they can be obtained, but I don’t think it can be done by regular law enforcement. I think it has to come the attorney general themselves.
