Purple carrots are ancient, nutrient-dense heirloom varieties, often featuring deep purple skin with bright orange or yellow flesh (such as the popular 'Cosmic Purple'). High in anthocyanin antioxidants, these crunchy, sweet, and slightly spicy carrots maintain their vibrant color when cooked. Common cultivars include 'Cosmic Purple', 'Purple Haze', and 'Black Nebula'. Key Details About Purple Carrots: Characteristics: These carrots are generally 5–8 inches long, tapered, and sometimes have a spicy flavor in addition to their sweetness. Varieties: Cosmic Purple: Features purple skin with orange/yellow flesh. Purple Haze: A popular, very sweet variety. Black Nebula: Deep purple all the way through. Purple Dragon: Known for its purple skin and bright orange core. History: Purple carrots are among the oldest types of carrots, with records dating back to 10th-century Asia Minor. Culinary Use: They are excellent raw in salads or cooked, though they can turn liquid purple in soups.
And for your next misinformation correction, white strawberries and red strawberries are completely different strains
I just saw, and purchased, the white strawberries in Publix. The actual berry is still red, but the overgrowth which most people think is the strawberry is white. They are not as tasty as the red ones.
There are still colored corn it’s called flint corn
all that GMO and chemicals are not to kill the bugs is to change the DNA on our foods
I thought eggplants were names that way because they are white when growing
such misinformation, we didn't change the eggplant. it was selective breeding that got us the purple. there was nothing changed.
Ok so? It’s not like it’s gonna destroy the planet or ruin its just a color we just liked the other color more
And the carrots were purple on the outside or yellow and white on the inside and they actually came in multi-varieties and then we decided we like the orange ones the best. so we kept the orange ones and that's what we kept growing. it's not like the purple or the white or the yellows don't exist. they we just don't like them
