What's the trick supposed to do?
I learned this trick from a plumber:
sprinkle in a few tablespoons of baking soda then pour in a cup or more of white vinegar. the vinegar will cut through the grease gloss and clear the drain. the few squints of soap do nothing

Is it supposed to make it smell fresh? or what? My father was a plumber and the Most important thing to remember to keep from calling plumber is put baking soda and white vinegar in stopped up sinks or drains and it unstoppable them or do it once a month to keep unclogged from food, grease etc.
