That doesn't even really look like it's meant for a kids party, to me it was done just for the wife to get some sort of praise that she's this great mom for throwing her daughter an over the top birthday . So many parents now days spend so much money on special occasions just to out do everyone else , but it's the children who have to remember. Most kids would be happy with a small party with their family and closest friends with none of the big grande over the top decorations and activities.

Hotdogs, chips, drinks, ice cream, cup cakes for any small kids party...party favors bag (dollar store little toys) for the guest to take home...let them run around chase each other a few games and then go home...
His wife has a problem with spending to much money. Wonder if anyone showed up. That happened to my grandsons stepdaughter. His wife invited her friends to her little girls party and no one showed up so he called all his friends they all showed up and brought gifts. He has great friends.💕
There is nothing really expensive about that party. If you hsbe family and friends that all help anything is possible. Balloon arches are actually really cheap if you know how to do them. the spread looks like ice cream bars, PBJ and grilled cheese. My mom is a blue ribbon state fair baker and would do family cakes for free we just paid for ingredients.

I get the desire to give your children the absolutely best life you can. Birthdays represent that. However, the dominant notion should be family love; not outward displays of grandeur. If you need to do so anyway, do milestones! My children got them at 5, 16, 18, and 21. But the ritual they remember, is the saying goodbye to the previous year. We can’t go back, so take a moment to remember the past year. Then kiss it away. Our journey lies ahead.
